Last fall, at the Lego Store in NYC, I stood in brightly lit silence, in awe of the 2 story tall Lego displays. Silent also because I was shocked at the prices of the larger Lego sets. Up to that point, I had only bought small Lego sets on Amazon or when I happened to be in a big box retail store.
I like to think of myself as the type of person who jumps at the chance to use a new tool or a new way of doing things. It's part of my self-improvement mind set, the need to be more efficient, more forward thinking, more creative. So when I heard about Boxbee, I had two thoughts.
I was very excited to see the recent Applied Design exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. On view until January 31, 2014, the installation showcases about 100 objects from the Museum’s collection.
Why review of an out of print book? Simple - I absolutely love this book. I keep going back to it because I just enjoy looking at the work environment of favorite writers.
One of my favorite things to look for are Tame Spaces in the city. So, I went to see Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers, an exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York that showcases innovative design solutions for small spaces. It's on view until September 15 and I highly recommend it.
On March 23, I attended the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 in New York City. While everything that is advertised in an issue of Architectural Digest far (far!) exceeds my own budget, I still had a splendid time.
