Why review of an out of print book?

Simple - I absolutely love this book. I keep going back to it because I just enjoy looking at the work environment of favorite writers. While The Writer's Desk by Jill Krementz is not where most people look for design inspiration. It allows readers into the rooms where writers make the magic, where they do the work that brings their readers hours of absorption, escape, delight and learning.

Just like the fascination an admiring art fan might have for photos of a favorite visual artist's studio, we readers can enjoy the intimate portraits of writers we admire.

These photographs inspire and reveal. Look at Susan Sontag at the great big desk facing a window. Look how Philip Roth sits with his feet on a desk. The light coming through Eudora Welty's windows is something we should all want in our life, whether we are working or drinking a cup of tea.
