On the heels of a recent post about living the good life with kids, I began to see a flurry of advice for overwhelmed parents. Seems I'm not the only one with an impossible dream to live in peace with small, organizationally deranged humans who leave a trail of toys wherever they wander.
T, The New York Times style magazine, has more writer's rooms. In case you didn't know, I have a thing or two for writers and the rooms where they work. These rooms along with the artist Xu Bing, below, are today's Stand Up Inspiration.
I've been following the charming and amusingly self deprecating Ursus Wehrli for the last six months, watching his Ted Talk and talk on Typo Design. I loved both volumes of Tidying Up Art. Then he came out with something right up my alley: The Art of Clean Up: Life Made Neat and Tidy.
I find inspiration, everywhere really, but mostly in the design, architecture, literary and art world. I love it when I find visual art that touches on my work as a professional organizer because it hones my skills in subtle, but necessary ways.
When I see inspiring things in the world or online, I stand up. Quite literally, I pop out of my seat and, only because I'm curious to read more, sit back down.
